Welcome to Waters End
Swallows returned 12th April, first brood of goslings on the lake 13th April, first Cuckoo heard this morning (15th April). Our long drive is a sea of bluebells almost drowning out the primroses, wild orchids are popping up and the mowers are taking a pounding.I have to confess we do not quite yet resemble the photo above as the Wisteria is only just starting to leaf and its going to be full of wonderful scented blooms in the next seven days.

For the sporty how about renting a bike and cycling through Bedgebury Forest, or a stroll around Bewl Water (quick stop at the pub halfway for lunch). We can even put you in touch with an electric bike leasing company for the less enthusiatic hill climbers (me).
Bikes may be rented for riding around Bedgebury Forest or bring your own, or just come to have a good walk.
We have two lovely, local pubs for dinner, The Bull at Benenden or perhaps The Woodcock Inn. If you are looking for something extra special, why not make a reservation at one of the three local Michelin restaurants (we are in 'the' guide too!)
How about a leisurely guided tour around one of the best English vineyards, Chapeldown, followed by lunch at The Swan on the vineyard
Special to do's
Lighthouse Bakery Cookery School
(they are the source of all our lovely hand baked breads)
or how about a course with Sarah Raven

Our small, private estate is ideally situated for exploring all of Kent and Sussex; Sissinghurst Gardens and Great Dixter are ten minutes drive away, a train to London takes one hour from Staplehurst, you can even reach France with your car in two hours via the channel tunnel or perhaps train from Ashford International and lunch in Paris.
Waters End has 43 acres (20 hectares) situated in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by the valley we nestle in. With marvellous views over our lakes, a stream, rolling fields and hop gardens, vineyards and fruit orchards on the other side of our valley, the heart of what Kent is all about. Virtually the only man made land mark being Sandhurst Windmill on the horizon. From our sign on the road wind your way down our long drive through the stone pillars, leaving the hubbub of life far behind (but not the comforts).
Whilst strolling around our lakes, you might catch a glimpse of our resident kingfishers, they also fish on the pond surrounding the house as do the swallows. Wild ducks, Greylags and Canada geese nest on the islands and stay all summer, rearing their ducklings and goslings until they are big and strong enough to take well instructed flying lessons descending our lawns and land on the lakes. Occasionally, deer and badgers are spotted and much to the amusement of our Isle of Man visitors we are generously stocked with bunny rabbits, as well as a badger set.
So, if you are looking for either a B&B or a Holiday Cottage, look no further, Waters End Farm is the perfect location for holiday touring, exploring, cycling, walking, golfing or just relaxing. You will not be disappointed.
