The Woodcock Inn

– 15 minutes brisk walk

Our local Inn, one mile up the lane, best to have a torch and high viz if walking back in the evening as there is not a pavement. Can pop in for a drink but you must pre book if you wish to dine as it’s a cosy place with a garden , very popular and privately owned .

The Bell  Ticehurst 

– 20 minutes drive

Popular quirky old inn in the centre of Ticehurst, great for a drink and or eating, must book for food, lovely for alfresco dining (weather permitting)

– 15 minutes drive 7 miles

Mr Garrett has an unsurpassable record of providing outstanding dining since the turn of the century and has one many many accolades, the best kent secret! Modern European.

You probably should have booked in their tiny family restaurant before you thought of coming to stay here at Waters End.

The White Dog

– 16 minutes drive 6 miles

Ewehurst village pub, customer and dog friendly Inn, fabulous views over towards Bodiam Castle from the garden and good vitals. Very busy on a sunny day so book to avoid dissappointment.

The Three Chimneys

– 15 minutes drive 7.6 miles

Famous old pub  that if you mention you have visited the gardens of Sissinghurst the next question is “did you go to TheThree Chimneys”.

Deceptively larger than you expect and at least a glass of ale should be consumed.

The Standard Inn

Easily miss this charming little Inn as you walk down Rye high street,smallbut tasty menu, not possible to book, pot luck but usually do not have to wait too long for a table, sensibly priced.

The Globe Inn

– 30 minutes 12 miles

An Inn without a counter, more of a display of scrumptious delights tempting you before you have even got the menu. Can only book if large numbers so either be patient or go early or late, worth the wait.

The Crown at Hastings

– 30 minutes drive 13 miles

The Crown is an independently run freehouse in the heart of Hastings Old Town at the foot of the country park, and a stone’s throw away from the beach.

They serve modern British food in a friendly informal environment using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
